My name is Lisa, and I walk beside individuals and their families through the final chapter of life—from the moment they choose to honor their journey with a Living Celebration of Life, all the way to their final breath.

I curate and connect the right professionals to create an elegant celebration where love, presence, and gratitude can be shared while a loved one is still here to receive them.

Inspired by the unforgettable celebrations created for my own family by extraordinary event designers, I founded Ascendings to offer that same level of artistry and care to others—transforming life’s milestones into exquisite Living Celebrations of Life.

I then continue to serve as a certified end-of-life doula, offering quiet companionship, compassionate presence, and gentle guidance through the final transition—ensuring that no one meets that moment alone, and that they are held with dignity, peace, and love.

Inspiration for Ascendings

Creating Ascendings grew from that gift for connection and from a deep belief in the importance of showing love and appreciation for the people who matter most—while they are still here to feel it. Life is, after all, a tapestry of moments and memories that stay with us forever. I wanted to create a way for those memories to be intentionally made and shared, so they become a lasting legacy.

Reflections that Sparked a Vision

During my mother’s final days and after attending countless funerals, I reflected on how a person’s life is so much more than its ending. A life is made up of milestones—laughter, triumphs, friendships, adventures—that deserve to be celebrated as a whole. Those experiences inspired me to become a hospice volunteer and later a certified death doula, and they shaped the heart of Ascendings: to celebrate the full story of a life, weaving together photos, videos, and the people who shaped every chapter, while the honoree can still revel in the love and connection.

Why Celebrate While Alive

Here’s a truth we rarely pause to consider: at a funeral, the deceased cannot appreciate or smell the flowers, hear the words of love, or the respect shared in their honor—they are gone and unaware. This is exactly why a living celebration is so important. It allows us to express our love and gratitude now, while there is still time to hear and feel every word.

My Role at Every Celebration

I have always loved connecting with people, and I also truly enjoy and take pride in making sure no meaningful detail is overlooked—those little touches someone else might miss. Being personally present at each celebration is a key part of my role, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and every special nuance is honored, so families can focus entirely on love, laughter, and memories.

My special focus is on those with limited time left but who are still healthy enough to enjoy life’s beauty and connection. I work with a trusted network of event planners, caterers, cake designers, photographers, videographers, and stylists to craft experiences that are both exquisite and unforgettable.
